Impelsys, a leading cloud platform for e-books and e-learning revealed today that its health-related venture iPC Health will be spun off into a separate entity. iPC Health, which debuted in January 2020, is a digital network dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of learning and training solutions to hospitals and healthcare professionals.

At the same time, the company named Deepak Sharma as the new venture’s CEO and introduced MedLern, the new brand that will reflect the network.

The need for digital learning and training in hospitals has only grown after Impelsys launched iPC Health in January 2020. To meet the country’s immediate and future needs, flexible technologies and platforms will be needed to address the looming shortage of qualified healthcare staff.

With leading providers including CloudNine, KIMSHEALTH, Yenepoya Hospitals, Meitra Hospital, MS Ramaiah, Sparsh, and Dr. Mehta’s Children Hospital putting their faith in the platform, the MedLern platform has been introduced as a learning partner in more than 130 hospitals and 30,000 healthcare professionals.

New modules such as Training Manager, which manages both offline and online training, Communicator, which facilitates virtual classrooms, Evaluator, which allows the hospital recruiting process 10X more effective, and Course Builder have also been added to the platform (which converts Hospital internal processes into structured training modules). MedLern announced a collaboration with RCNi, a subsidiary of the Royal College of Nursing in the United Kingdom, last month to introduce leading peer-reviewed and research-based CPD Certificate programs to Indian hospitals.

“I am very excited to welcome Deepak on board as our new CEO,” said Impelsys founder and CEO Sameer Shariff. Deepak brings a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare and technology industries, as well as a common commitment to the cause. His leadership will allow us to build on our current momentum and grow the business to its full potential.”

Deepak is an IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta graduate who have held various leadership positions in the technology industry, including CEO of State Street Global Advisors in India and, most recently, heading key strategic initiatives for Wipro, including marketing for their Healthcare & Life Sciences sector and their Products and Platforms portfolio.
