Seeing the medical history of the patients coming to the PHC and CHC, the doctors of the medical colleges will help them in providing online treatment. The telemedicine program is being operated under the joint aegis of National Health Mission and Uttarakhand Swasthya Vikas Yojana.

At present, patients from far-flung areas in the state have to come to hospitals in plain districts for treatment. The reason for this is the shortage of doctors in PHC and CHC. In such a situation, with telemedicine service, these patients will be able to get online treatment only through local PHC and CHC.

For this, steps are also being taken towards strengthening connectivity and all kinds of infrastructural efforts. Along with this, there is also a plan to distribute medicines through ASHA workers to those who get treatment through telemedicine.

Services will be organized by health policy

Uttarakhand health policy has also opened the way for strengthening health services. In this policy, to strengthen the health system, budget arrangements, skilled human resources and other services are being strengthened. In the policy, setting standards for various services, arrangements have been made to complete them in a fixed time period.

Birth Waiting Home for Pregnant Women

Pregnant women coming from the hilly areas to the hospitals in the plains for delivery will now get the facility of free stay in the birth waiting home. The health department has taken this initiative to improve the maternal and infant mortality rate. It is being started from Dehradun and Haridwar districts.

Blood storage unit will open

In the state, the seriously ill and those injured in road accidents will now be able to get blood on time for treatment. For this, resources are being increased according to the requirement.

Approval has been given for the establishment of Blood Component Separation Unit at SPS Rishikesh. On the other hand, blood storage units are proposed to be opened in Community Health Center Kapkot, Joshimath, Chakrata, Munsiyari, Sitarganj, Dhauladevi, Thatyur and Rikhanikhal.
